Versatile!? Me?!

What a huge honor!  Thank you to Julie at Math is Elementary for this:

Funny thing ~ I was just giving myself permission this morning to blog about things other than kids' books!  It's my blog, right?  So even though I called it "Inside this Book," I decided I don't have to confine my posts to just book reviews.  So I guess I'm becoming more versatile!

The rules for this award are:
1. Thank the Blogger who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their site.
3. Include the award image to your post.
4. Include the award image on your blog.
5. Give 7 random facts about yourself.
6. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award.
7. When nominating other bloggers, include links to their sites.
8. Let those bloggers know they have been nominated.

So here are my random facts:

1. I never wanted to be a teacher, and didn’t succumb to my destiny until the middle of my junior year in college.  That last year and a half was packed!  And the BEST of my college career.

2. I collect all things giraffes, but I no longer tell the kids that; my collection okay, obsession is taking over my home!

3. I teach in a Catholic school, but I am not Catholic; I was raised in and still attend the United Church of Christ.

4. We are getting a new principal this year, and I am excited to prove that I am a teacher she NEEDS to keep on her staff!  But I’m also nervous because it’s been a long time since I’ve had someone paying attention to what I am doing in my classroom.

5. I have two nieces who are the loves of my life!  The baby turned 3 in May and the oldest turned 6 on July 5 and will start kindergarten in the fall.  How did that happen?

6. I am a huge Musical Theater nerd!  I have season tickets to the Broadway Series in Cleveland and would give up food before I give up my tix!

7. To prove how dorky I am – As soon as I found JogNog.com this summer, I played the Musical Theater game first. And got all of them right! I also only have Pandora to feed my need to sing along with my favorite shows!

And now, the fun part.  I get to nominate others for this award.  Truthfully it's been difficult to find bloggers who haven't already received it!  But I had fun looking!  Here's my list:

Don't be jealous of Kristin; follow her blog and learn.  Someday we may all be 1:1!

Always on the lookout for new 5th grade blogs...

I just found this blog today and I {puffy} heart love it!  I use the line, "OK let's wrinkle those brains!" in my class all the time!

Talk about new: Kelly has only 6 followers as of today.  Go.  Now.  Spread the bloggy love!

Who can't use more tips and tricks?  Kayla used to teach fourth and changed her blog's name to "Slick Tricks for Grade Six" when she moved up.  Clever, huh?

Some of you may have followed Jennifer's old blog, "The Classic Crafter."  Loved it!  Love this one more!

I found Stacy's blog through Farley's Currently this month, and I'm so glad I did.  She shares tons of ideas!

I know it's not 15, but like I said, it's getting hard to find bloggers who don't already have this award.  These are my current favorite new blogs!  Go visit them; they'll be your new favs, too!

Thanks again for thinking of me! Yay fifth grade!
I'm always wondered about what it is like to teach in a Catholic school (I'm Catholic and went for a short time when I was a kid) I can totally relate to you on #4. We are getting a new principal also. This will be my third year so all I know was my awesome previous principal. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm always excited about new things!

Musical Theater Nerd please meet Musical Theater Nerd! I can belt out "Seasons of Love" at a moments notice, I even changed the words so my firsties could sing it at the end of the year performance (it didn't go too well, so we stuck with High School Musical, still musical though). You are my BBF (Blogging Best Friend). I, too, have season tickets but to Broadway in Miami and now I am off to JogNog.com, because I am PUMPED!
